The size of a garden pebble
Flitting among the clovers

This was a painting that I did for the Fantasy project in my Painting class last semester. I had only a week to draw, stretch the paper, and paint this picture. More time would have allowed for a better picture but I am content and happy with what I have.

This painting was a fiasco. First my sketch was wonky. I was drawing it from a stock photo (just for anatomy reasons) and her arm came out....oddly. Then my mistakes were too dark on the paper and I could not erase them. Then, while painting, I added too much water to the masking fluid used to highlight the clover leaves and when it dried it was so thin that I painted through it in spots! Then I painted part of her ear as her arm. *sighs* Thank God I somehow made it past all of that.....

My favourite part: The gradient of the blue from light to dark - it looks like night. I also ADORE the spider webs. And I hate spiders ^^;
